The Newest Addition to the Bissell Clinic Team
Kimberly Courtney‘s journey to becoming a physical therapist is a closely personal one. While obtaining her B.S. in Combined Sciences from Santa Clara University, Kimberly was a member of her school’s Division I collegiate volleyball team. This established Kim’s passion for sports, but ultimately lead to multiple orthopedic surgeries and extensive recovery. After college, Kimberly learned of her father’s progressive neurological diagnosis which motivated her to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Mount St Mary’s University.
After earning her doctorate, Kim completed her residency at the University of Chicago Medical Center where she specialized in treating orthopedic and neurologic disorders. In May of this year, Kim returned to her home town of Santa Barbara where she now works with the goal of increasing her patients’ quality of life and helping them return to the activities they enjoy.
When she is not helping her patience, Kimberly loves spending time hiking in the outdoors and taking her bernedoodle puppy, Beau, to the beach.
